Biography

Kandi was born in Illinois, but has lived in California (the Sacramento area) for the majority of her life. She takes her art very seriously, taking classes, workshops, and studying national and international watercolorists.

"When I am painting in watercolor, it is magical. The dynamics of the colors mixing and mingling together on the paper or on my palette helps define the many moods i can create, capturing the soul and essence of my subject matter.

I like my subjects to have a lot of bright light and shadows. This adds more drama, mystery, and dimension to my work. I also like to paint an ordinary subject from a different vantage or view point."

Kandi has won numerous awards, locally, nationally, and internationally. Her works have been accepted and displayed in many major art shows, where she consistently is an award winner.
